Once more the weather held out for Whitehaven Carnival 2004. It had rained heavily during the morning but come the carnival - the sun shone. |
This year's carnival queen was Kayleigh Telford who had a float decorated in England's red and white, accompanied by her lovely attendants Sarah Whaley and Rebecca Lilly. |
Rebecca Flynn the retiring queen also took her place in the procession in order to hand over the title to her successor. She was attended by Kerry Ann Wilson and Grace Cook looking beautiful in blue. |
Other floats beautifully decorated in the traditional style were the Workington Rose Queen who took First Place and the Fairy Princess, Lauren. |
There was a film theme to many floats with a lorry being turned into a pirate ship for Bransty school's Pirates of the Caribbean and another into a castle for Beauty and the Beast for Valley school, which won best float. |
These young rugby lads seemed to be really enjoying the day representing Hensingham Amateur Rugby League club. |
