Return of the Liverpool Tall Ship

Glaciere in Whitehaven Harbour with Old Watchtower

July 25th 2007 Whitehaven Harbour

It was good to see this Liverpool tall ship back in Whitehaven so shortly after the Maritime festival. A baltic trader built in 1899 she ended up lying on the bottom of the mersey for 6 years until being restored by Dave Murray, a Liverpool sailing enthusiast with a vision. This great little tall ship is now providing a platform for teaching people, often from disadvantaged backgrounds, about sailing and diving.
