s/y Next Wave on the Sugar tongue in Whitehaven in front of the Beacon Heritage centre.
The Next Wave is a 42m long Ketch, with Gaff-rigged sails which can sleep up to 52 people. It arrived in Whitehaven on the 16th of May as part of its tour around the UK promoting Christian values. Originally called Elida IV and owned by the Elida foundation in Sweden it was renamed in March by YWAM (youth with a mission), a Christian organisation, and their maritime branch Marine Reach. It has 13 crew including the Captain, Brian Sloan, Marine Reach regional director.
