As the smugglers were marched around town they were joined by a Caribbean carnival parade. The parade expressed the story of the rum trade from the Caribbean to Whitehaven. |
Local school kids worked with Wyrd arts at the Rosehill barn to create some magnificent costumes. |
The carnival majors in large spectacular costumes lead each section including this Whitehaven News costume and a fully rigged sailing ship. |
Other sections showed the Caribbean and the sea. With most of the participants enjoying it as much as the crowd. |
