Whitehaven Maritime Festival 1999
During the festival weekend, performances were
given by people in period dress taking part in small plays and some shopkeepers in the
town entered into the spirit with a fancy dress competition. There were also morris
dancers in costume and traders plus an estimated 100,000 visitors.
