Procession Queens Floats Dancers Gallery
Glorious sunshine shone on Whitehaven Carnival in 2006 which was great news for all the people that had put in so much hard work.
As usual the carnival procession contained Britannia and the Mayor of Copeland who this year is Willis Metherall who was driven around in the back of a red Dodge Viper sports car and thoroughly enjoyed it.
These three pigs in a car drew plenty of laughter as they drove down the street blasting music out and four gangster girls proved how a simple costume can be very effective.
Two sets of drummers added some rhythm to the marchers.
The Whitehaven Rugby League float was pulled by a vintage tractor used by the RAF from the following day's vintage rally at Hayescastle farm.
The delightful models from Vanilla fashion graced the carnival once more and deservedly won a trophy for the best trade and advertising entrant.
